What Happens Here
More than just a collaborative space, growing the future.
Sisibo Hub is an ecosystem of entrepreneurs, innovators, investors, mentors and other hubs that aim at accelerating development. We are a center for research, innovation and information. We connect all local efforts and leverage on key regional strengths thus uplifting the capabilities of local startups and innovations.
A Rich History and Culture
In 1908, Eldoret was established in the midst of farms, created by white settlers, on what was known to the settlers as "Farm 64", "64" or "Sisibo" to the locals because at that time it was 64 miles (103 km) from the newly built Uganda Railway railhead.
They sowed wheat, maize and vegetables laying the foundation for the transformation of Uasin Gishu Plateau into a prosperous agricultural region.
This is where the name Sisibo Hub came from, the Hub’s existence is also directly linked to the history of where it is located because it is strategically situated in a town that is the hub of major sustainable developmental activities. This is also the reason why the hub’s key focus is on innovating around agriculture.
Guidance and SupportA team of mentors-in-residence provide sage advice gleaned from their collective decades as executives and serial entrepreneurs. Resident Partners—accountants, attorneys, venture capitalists and marketers—provide a limited number of pro bono hours for expert consultation.
An Engaging NetworkNot only do resident startups have access to expert support; they comprise a community where everyone learns from each other. Monthly Meetups, and impromptu conversations at the coffee bar foster a close-knit group of entrepreneurs with similar needs and diverse experiences.
Space to Get Work DoneWhether you need a small private office, a lab, or a combination of these, we have options for you. The Sisibo Hub offers shared resources, such as a professionally staffed lobby, and room to expand as your company grows.
